Oh woe, I went to Bunnings on Sunday to buy a can of spray on glue and parked in the middle of three car parking spaces and well away from the trolley storage racks.
As I was about to pay for the can of glue I was approached by a guy who asked me if I owned a Black Ranger , I replied in the affirmative and he then informed me a Holden ute with a flat tray had just side swiped my Wildtrak and had then departed in haste -- all up the can of glue will set me back some $1500 :-( to say nothing of my first insurance claim in well over 30 years.
The witness didnt get the registration number.
Bunnings don't have CCTV cameras covering their car parks and even if they did the store manager informed me that privacy and anti-stalking regulations/laws would prevent them from giving footage to anyone other than the police - who, seeing as no-one was injured don't want to know about the incident.
My own dash cam, a Blackvue covers front and back, not 90 degrees to the sides, it did however come on due to the shock of the impact and I got two nice focussed views of the carpark wall and the store.
So, if anyone happens to have a spare front pasenger door ------ ?????

More cars are damaged in car parks than on the road
I put most of the blame on the car park owners
Enough room for 500 cars but they make the parks small enough to fit 750 cars
We got hit but our dash cam got it
Took the clip to the cops and they got charged for hit & run on top of the repairs.

If anyone knows of the location of a Shadow Black front passenger door please let me know. "Luckily" the damage is just the door, - with a tiny 5mm scratch on the rear door that can be easily painted out. I'll put this on the wanted site here as well in case anyonme knows of a wrecker whjo might have one

Thank you all for your input.
I think my problem is resolved. I've aquired a Shadow Black front passenger door for just $150 - it has a small scratch and two small dents that my local panel shop is happy to repair, respray it and "blend" it into the rest of the car and including the Wildtrak door sticker it shouldnt set me back too much more than the $850 excess that I was up for with my insurance company.
Its been a bit of a traumatuc experience for me, it would have been my first insurance claim in well over 30 years.
It would seem that due to the recent floods in NSW there are a LOT of water damaged Rangers in the wrecking yards at the present so used parts are at an all time low. I'm seriously thinking of taking advantage of these low prices and buying an motor and autobox and doing them up as projects during the winter months.
