Bringing an older thread to life again, has there been much talk of EGR Valve cleaning using this method? (or the cooler even) Is it effective?

I'm not overly keen on pulling mine down to manually clean after just getting the manifold back together recently, but it does concern me what it would look like in there after seeing the state of the manifold. Possibly there's a separate thread on this i'm missing...

Loving this forum also, tonnes of knowledge in here!

Cheers

No seperate thread here that anyone has posted about. Someone may chime in that has actually done it but honestly cannot remember a thread on any forum with someone that has done it.

Blanked it and bypassed the cooler as was leaking. Then had it mapped out. Better mpg, and no future issues with any of it.

Thanks m_attt, That's the way i'm leaning now, it's just the EGR valve side that get's blanked isn't it? I assume there would be no need to blank the exhaust in side if the cooler is bypassed anyway?

Cheers mate

Yes just egr side, the exhaust side has a flap thats controlled by somthing so stays shut when mapped out. I bypassed cooler as was leaking and not worth £700 for new one
