Spent some time today fitting the 4 parking sensors to the front. I have not made the additional loom not fitted the side park assist sensors at this stage.

This was a projects should have been completed 12 months ago. Being the first of the PX2's we did not get front parking sensors, loom or parking switch. XLT did have the plug for the loom to plug into though. Also being a first of the first ARB PX2 bullbar it did not have provision for parking sensors.

Most time consuming part is drilling the 27mm holes for the sensor cages. They came up well and everything functions as expected.

Being a fresh fit, I had one luxury and that was to fit the middle sensors where I wanted them. I installed them centre of the post and the hinged number plate holder. Factory fit is about approx 15mm closer to the number plate holder and I believe this close could lead to false positives.

I had sensor issues when my ARB bar was fitted.

The centre 2 were setting off warnings now and then, turned out to be the number plate.

I was left with 2 options.

Purchase the smaller personal number plates or trim the bottom corners off the normal ones.

I trimmed the normal ones and no issues since.

Good Effort, you are well ahead of me, I purchased and installed the switch block but still haven't got around to purchasing the harness and sensors yet

Did you end up getting them working? I plugged a set into my loom and nothing. Not sure what else needs to be done to get them working

Hi all. Happy New Year etc.

Just bought a loom and sensors off a bloke and had a test fit this afternoon. I have an Ironman front bar and will need to figure out a way of retaining the sensors in the bar, but I changed the asbuilts as per Stewart's link directly above except the APIM details. I cant configure the APIM asbuilt.

The APIM has an error situation where I cant read DTCs nor reset the module. I suspect it is because the factory radio and associated gear has been changed. Got a radio missing code (U0184) on the BCM, the IPC the ACM and FCDIM.

Seemed to sort of work, as in it seemed to recognise the sensors, but I had them sitting on the fence next to the car pointing at nothing.

I could not disable the sensors from the dash.

I am hoping that the APIM not able to be configured is not an issue as I expect it is mainly related to the display capabilities for the parking sensors.

Anyone have any clues as to whether it is able to be done?

You never had an APIM so would never be able to anyway.

I see no reason why it will not work though as long as the IPC supports the menu.

Just get sensor caddies from ARB, it will save you a ton on time.

I can confirm the slightest misalignment or protrusion of the rego plate in a flip-up winch-style plate holder is problematic. I experienced a lot of inner, drive's side false alarms. I asked the local dealer to look at it and they advised the car can be programmed to know it has a bull bar fitted. They did that and it made matters worse unless the number plate was swung upwards. This prompted me to look at it closely and I noticed the black frame that surrounds the rego plate has 6 clips holding it in place. Two along each of the top and bottom edges and one at each end. The one on the driver's end had broken off allowing the frame to flex forwards by about 3-4mm at the bottom corner. I used some silicone adhesive to secure the frame flush with the plate and it has largely resolved my problems. The rego plate itself is slightly distorted and if I straighten this out, I'm confident it will improve matters further.

Hi, I understand that Ford can reset something that syas there is a nudge bar fitted, fixing this problem.

Can Forscan be used to do this? How?

Thanks,

Chris.

It cannot, they cannot. There is no factory procedure to adjust the sensors.

No idea. I will assume the plug is there and a factory loom and sensors are probably used. Probably find the kit as such comes with the addition of right angle brackets for the sensors to screw to the tray. Best talk to dealer for more info.

Hi all, so alledgedly there's a change that Ford can make to the parking module to tell it when a bullbar is fitted, done in IDS or FDRS.

Does anyone know if this can be done via Forscan instead? I've asked my dealer about it but they just blame ARB rather than see if they can apply any software changes on their end.

I have never seen it and do not believe it exists.

There are manufacture specific tools used when setting up the calibration and I can not see it happen in the current PAM that a dealer could make a change.
