Hi,
Thanks for the site Stewart, great stuff.
I have a spare tyre that I put a tps in. Does the TPMS system have room to monitor 5 tyres, or just the 4 on the car? Does the system work on the rotational distance covered to work out the tyre is not flat or is it really looking at tyre pressures?
I have put an order in for the TPMS learning tool so I can keep the system updated eg. do tyre rotations including the spare.
Cheers

The TPMS can be made to monitor 6 wheels maximum, 4 on the car and 2 on a trailer for example.
It can monitor 5 if you like but the wheel has to be turning to wake up the sensor so a bit of a waste in the spare.
Not sure if you can set it up and allow it to sleep for an extended period and wake again.
Also not sure if there won't be some sort of alarm going off, Stewart may help there.

Thanks Rosspat,
I have Forscan and dongle setup so can make changes if necessary.
FYI ...
I put the tps in a spare before I went travelling last year. After 5000 km I did a tyre rotation adding in the spare. The TPMS system put an alarm on the dash for an hour or so, then the alarm went away. I assume in this case the system :learnt: the new tyre and tps and added it, and :forget: the original tyre as it went to sleep as it was now the spare. ?? Thoughts ?
Cheers

Thanks RossPat,
I am going to fit TPS's to my campervan tyres. How would I get the TPMS to recognise the extra two sensors?
All help appreciated,
Cheers,

Hi there.
Enable the 2 extras using ForScan first.
The best way would be to purchase a TPMS tool.
Drive the vehicle a couple of klms to wake all the sensors before training.
It has full & easy to read and understand instructions..
https://www.saeb.net/wp/product/tpms-se ... ning-tool/
Handy tool to have if you have to retrain later on.
When you aren't towing your camper the monitoring system will tell you there is an issue.
To stop it you will need to Disable the 2 extras with Forscan, unless Stewart knows another way.

I run two spares with sensors and the system only sees or tracks the 4 units that spin up (by driving down the road)
When I change wheels and spin them up (by driving down the road) an error will come up which I reset from the dash control reset
