Put a lift kit in today.the first side was going well until i pushed down on the lower arm and the cv uncliped and seperated.
Fixed that easy enough by opening cv boot clamp to check circlip wasnt dislodged from groove, reassembled and installed a new ear clamp.
The lesson i learnt was that if you undo the drive shaft nut (35mm) and knock the shaft in as you push the lower arm down the cv cant come apart and for the sake of a few more bolts and nuts its easier to remove brakes and steering balljoint.
Also fyi the cv boot clamps are stepless oetiker ear clamps 36.4mm on the small end and 98mm on the big end.

Good tip, although I have change front struts out a total of 7 times now and have had at least one of the shafts pop out about 3 of those times, slid it back in and fully seated without issues on all occasions. Can be fiddly the first time you do it get it to locate properly but it will go in while turning the drive shaft.

I had to cut the boot clamps to get the cv in a postion to accept the shaft.
Now i need to source some better boot clamps.el cheapos are no bueno.
Any ideas onwhere to get originals, ford only sells in a boot repair kit for 300bucks.otherwise ill go repco and change from ear type clamp to the sliding strap jobby and have to buy thentensioning tool.
