Hi
First Time nervous Forscan User here so please bare with me:
I just wanted to make sure is it safe to use Forscan on an South African Ford Ranger? I know you can stuff up a lot of modules using the program incorrectly but what I mean is, using it only in the area where the adjustments have been predefined with what its going to change like activating the offroad Gauge and so on ?
Also I'm curious to know when writing the new changes to the module does it rewrite everything or only the changes made to the module ? (reason for asking this I'm just scared that it will rewrite incorrect data maybe like something different from the ford rangers overseas and cause an issue)
I know using Forscan there is stuff that will not work on the rangers and I know not to activate them, I did Read thru the Forscan forum on here and have read some stories of guys experiencing issues here and there.I really want to change a few small things on my ranger without causing unnecessary worry that something is going to get wiped or not work anymore.
Any Feedback regarding this will be appreciated, Thanks

Hello there
Only Stewart will be able to advise you about your vehicle, he will respond at some stage.
The best thing you can do is to backup the modules before you make any changes.
Backing up is done with Forscan.
Most changes are a one click selection and when you do a Write only the one you changed will write.
Other changes will write the whole block but of course only the one you changed will be altered.

Rather than rewrite what has been done, here is a youtube video I found on how to backup the modules.
