So bulbs arrived and I fitted them this morning. All went pretty smoothly apart from the dust covers, they are a nightmare to take off. I did have one other problem and I haven't seen anyone discuss this so thought I'd share.

The plug that goes onto the high beam bulb has a small notch that I needed to file down. The 3 pins on the led bulb are about 1mm shorter than the original bulbs and the little notch on the plug prevents the pins going in enough to get a good connection. So I had to file it away and when I plugged it in I used one of the cable ties to hold it together just to be sure. (I forgot to take a photo of the cable tie)

Anywho the rest was pretty easy. So now it has LED high beam, low beam and fogs. Can't wait for it to get dark and try them out.ImageImageImageImageImage

We generally do not have an issue as our Rangers do not have the drl function. Pretty sure from memory we also have different plug, someone else may confirm this though.

That's nothing like the plug on my car, I don't have a pic though.

Oh, ok I just presumed they were the same worldwide. You are correct Stewart that bulb is high beam and daytime running light. The LED gives it a crisper look during the day. I took it out for a spin when it got dark and I'm really impressed with them, they are far superior to the regular bulbs. The light pattern on the low beam seems almost identical to the regular bulbs so no need for much adjustment.
Thanks guys for all your help.

I think the NZ Wildtrak may have the same DRL as you but not sure on the Aus unit. XLT and below definitely didn't. Thai vs SA built, there are quiet a few differences.

I should have some new LED globes for low and high coming next week.

These will replace the pre production versions I have been running for nearly 12 months.

Current are pre production are 6000k and the production versions are 4200k. I expect an improvement in depth while giving less reflection and there should be less chance of being picked up with them in with less glare for oncoming road users.

Stay tuned.

So who is going to be the first to acquire the OEM LED Headlamps from the US Lariat and see if they fit on our Rangers?

Whoever wins lotto first.

Also keep in mind they are left hand drive so the lights are not going to suit Australian roads anyway.

I'll be in Virginia tomorrow and will ask one of the Ford dealers about the cost of the new lights. If they fit, will work with the existing wiring, and don't require bank loan to buy, I might pick up a pair for my Wildtrak...maybe.

Mike it will not be plug and play. Looms, relays, headlight control module etc. programming.

Mike are you still in the States right now? I'm looking for something for the next project.

The service tech at one of the Virginia dealers initially denied the existence anywhere of the Ranger between 2011 and 2019. One of the younger techs told him that only the U.S. model stopped in 2011. That dealership didn't have any parts for the 2019 Ranger for me to examine.

Yes, I'm still in Virginia until Saturday evening, then I'm back to Germany. I sent you an email.
