Hi all, first of all, this is absolutely brilliant. I just received my MX+ dongle and have done heaps of playing around with it already. Turned off the auto engine off feature, changed to fuel tank size, added the climate control and intelligent 4wd to the dash, changed the amount of indicator clicks, etc. Awesome stuff.
A few things I would like to try but have not found any of the codes for are the following:
- QWERTY keyboard layout as default. I know you can change this is the menu, but after an ignition cycle this is changed back to ABC. I would like to set QWERTY as a permanent keyboard layout.
- Allow for keyboard input (GPS and media player) while driving. (for the wife/navigator of course).
- Smooth compass on left hand dashboard screen. No idea is this is possible, but I would love the compass to move around smoothly as your drive (analog) instead of flicking between N to NE to E. I can drive down a road with a gentle bend and it will stay on N for ages and then flick to NE and sit on NE for ages again. This is pretty pointless is the bush.
- Allow rearview camera whilst driving. Again, don't know if this is possible, but would be a cool feature to turn on. I have a canopy and sometimes I can't see anything through the centre mirror.
I also tried to change the Sync3 theme (colours and background) via the non asbuilt feature. Unfortunately, it didn't change anything regardless of what layout I chose. I can change the splash screen when the unit starts up, just not the theme/background.

Thanks for the reply mate. I wasn’t holding my breath for any of these as I figured they would be a long shot. Cheers.

Hi saeb, here are a few more long shots:
- Powerfold Mirrors: is there an option to keep power to the mirrors after you turn the engine off (but radio and electric windows still wor) allowing the use of the powerfold function? I typically turn the car of first and then realise I need to pull the big clearview mirrors in. Pressing the button when the engine is off does nothing.
- Is there a way to change the trip info display on RH side to show both trip km, DTE and maybe tyre pressure?
- Does the Ranger have a turbo pressure and/or a oil level gauge that can be shown on the display?
Thanks mate

Mmmm.
No. You will need to rewire the switch to have power at all times to do so.

Haha, I should rename this thread to 'mods I can't try'. No just kidding, appreciate the response Stewart.

My suggestion is to put this kit in and have it auto close/open every time you lock and unlock.Evert wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 6:33 pm - Powerfold Mirrors: is there an option to keep power to the mirrors after you turn the engine off (but radio and electric windows still wor) allowing the use of the powerfold function? Hi TieNN89, do you have this kit? Can you confirm that this will not cause the mirrors to fold in when you are driving and you press the door lock button on the inside of the door? I have enable the auto door lock feature when driving above 20 km/h and I do not really want my mirrors to fold in every time the car auto locks the doorsTieNN89 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 12:14 amMy suggestion is to put this kit in and have it auto close/open every time you lock and unlock.Evert wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 6:33 pm - Powerfold Mirrors: is there an option to keep power to the mirrors after you turn the engine off (but radio and electric windows still wor) allowing the use of the powerfold function? I have them fitted and I also have Auto lock enabled, the mirrors do not fold in when driving, but if you need extra clearance while driving pressing the Mirror fold button on the dash will fold them in, press again to unfold.Evert wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 6:33 pm Hi TieNN89, do you have this kit? I don't have my mirrors to fold/unfold on lock/unlock.
I have option 2.
Mirrors fold in on lock, but stay folded until the ignition is tuned on.
I can leave the car unlocked in the shed and the mirrors stay folded in out the way.

Awesome, thanks for that RossPat.
Is that option 2 something that you can set on the unit?

Unfortunately I don't have the folding mirrors on the XLS but have the window module.
Not sure if that kit can do it, but I think the mirrors should fold when you turn off ignition, that way it doesn't get in the way when you open the door.
