2016 3.2 XLS ranger. 70,000km

Was on the highway the other day, 400km into a 700km drive when out of the blue I get "Hill Decent control failed, DSC error service required on the dash display.

Figuring perhaps a speed sensor error i pulled over and plugged in my code reader and the only code was for Cyl 4 glowplug.
Cleared it, shut down and restarted the vehical and all good everthing back to normal. Have since done another 1600km without any DTC codes going off again.

Is the Hill decent, DSC error just the default DTC error that flashes up on the dash display for any active or logged DTC?

Vehical has been started from dead cold half dozen times now without another glowplug fault going off? Now i don't even know if it's worth chasing or the CanBus just had a split second spaz and chucked a code up.

do you have the obd device plugged into socket full time? I do and I had an issue for a while intermittently if my Torque app did not shutdown properly then the next time I started the car I got a few weird alarms including DSC. Had to unplug the little unit to get it cleared.
2018 XLT. Koni/Bilstein shocks , SSA modified rear springs, ended up with about 30-40mm lift on rear, set the fronts to about a 15mm lift.

The cable is plugged in full time to the rear OBD port, but the reader itself is only plugged occasionally.
The reader was not plugged in when this happened.

Only certain issues will cause a the check light to illuminate. Glow plugs not being one.

I think if you had turned off, not cleared and restarted it would have reset anyway.

Oddities happen at times and there is not always a verifiable reason for them.
