Installation instructions for pre front sensor summit bars to retro fit front part sensors.

** Note there are now new style sensor cages which are ARB part number 3500960 for a pack of 4.

Does anyone know if ARB are offering this kit as a free "warranty" issue. My front sensors have played up since day one and despite many adjustments, they still randomly go off at time. Will follow this one up with my dealer who fitted the bar.

Hi Chris, I've just posted this elsewhere, but will repost here in case its relevant. my front park sensors had an intermittent issue with both inboard sensors going off, for no apparent reason- very annoying in city traffic or when manoeuvring around at car park speed. I e-mailed ARB about it and found that the issue lies with the paint on the bullbar, it seems to pool in the sensor cut out and applies pressure to the side of the sensor, triggering the false activation. the simple fix is to pop the sensor and plastic retainer out, and carefully file away the paint in the offending locations- (these should be evident by rub marks on the sensor body). Once opened sufficiently the sensor should slide into the cut out with very minimal resistance.

ARB also mentioned that if the wiring is pulled to tight it may also cause the cause drama, so worth checking while you are in there poking about.

I have the ARB Ascent bulbar and mine do exactly the same thing, mainly after rain - thank goodness for the mute button on the centre console !! On mine once the sensors have had chance to dry out the issue goes away, I guess its one of the prices one has to pay for driving around in a multi-faceted computer.

So why arent ARB getting these bullbars back and fixing the problems? Especially if the wiring is too tight, shouldnt that have been fixed when they fit the bullbar?

My centre sensors were giving me trouble and it was found to be the number plate.

I either had to change to a smaller personal plate or trim the lower corners off, I chose the latter.

I agree. I believe its the middle sensor placement. I see the only way to resolve it move the middle hole 1inch outbound.

As I fitted mine from scratch, I was able to move the sensors 1 inch closer the outside of the vehicle.

Since do a full fresh fit, I have not once had a false positive.

I too had this issue, mine was increased by the fact my front number plate is an ARB hinged assembly designed to conceal the winch cable, the easy resolution is to ensure that its fully pushed back.

Mine is the same set up.

It was tightened to the point it had to be undone to lift which was okay until I used the winch.

Left loose enough to lift and it would move and set off the sensors, it didn't have to move much.

No issues since I trimmed the plate, even rough roads don't bother it now.

4X4 Offroad used stainless steel Torq screws to fit the plate to the holder, I found that they had also left the four rubber "buffer pads" that come with NSW customised plates, these held the plate about 3mm off the hinged carrier, just enough to trigger the alarm sensor if the plate was just slightly off being hard back, the solution was two pancake head pop rivets in the lower section of the plate holding it hard back to the hinged carrier, since then I've not had an issue.
Life would be boring without little issues like this to rectify.
