I recently brought a USB interface plug from Stewart and after watching the tutorial had a go at changing at changing my fuel tank volume as I will soon be getting a long range tank for my Everest. First try last week went well. I accessed the IPC module changed the tank volume and then changed it back. I kept doing the DTC resets as shown in Stewarts tutorial, but not really sure why I do this as other Tuts on on Youtube don't seem to do this? I presumed it was to check the functionality of the module and clear any codes generated by the rewriting of the parameters.
Well I just went for my first 500km shakedown run of the new car with the wife and what came up was that the navigation system would not take screen inputs from the passenger while driving, and the voice activation is really hopeless. Just got home a bit tired and thought I would change the APIM to allow inputs while the car was moving. I found the option in that module that said "allow audio and video inputs" and I presumed the video inputs was keystrokes from the video screen. I changed the option and wrote it. Then went to the DCM and did a reset.
I then though I would go back into the IPC module and practice again to change the tank volume. Practice makes perfect right? Anyway I went to the DTC tab and went to do a reset and got a yellow caution triangle with the following text Module initialization/relearn vehicle data. DTC P160A is set when the PCM/TCM detects and mismatch in configuration data (VIN, Tyre size, axle, radio.... etc)........
I have googled this error on the site and found someone who had it when they changed tyre size but there was no clue on how to fix it. If I cancel it just goes nowhere and I did say yes to relearn but after this still the same error.
I drove the car and everything is fine but its still not allowing keyboard inputs while moving so that failed if indeed I changed the correct parameter. But I seem to have rendered my Forscan program unable to be used. Have tried disconnecting Forscan and reconnecting. All the modules scan okay but I am getting an error "Module DCU has no DTU function" that I don't think I was getting before. As I am typing this issue onto the forum I am shaking with anxiety as i don't know what I have done or how to fix it. I thought I'd put my predicament on the forum hoping someone can help? I think I need phone a friend help because I am going around in circles. I have saved the original configuration of the car but i am unsure how to reload this? Anyone out there can help. I am in Brisbane on the Northside and vehicle is a new Biturbo Everest.
thanks
Terry

I wouldn't panic just yet mate. But you should change the inputs back to their previous settings as touch screen inputs while moving are a part of the Sync3 system and can't be changed in Forscan.
Re the other issues I'm really not sure so hopefully someone (SAEB?) might chime in here and help you out. You can always send him a PM if you get too worried.
Cheers

Hi, I have not used forescan as yet so cant help there,
Looking at your fault message "Module DCU has no DTU function"
I believe your car has Adblue? It looks like "DCU" is the module that controls the Adblue system, I cant finde what "DTU" is.
Is it possible you tried to change the adblue tank volume?

Thanks for trying. I will try and go and change my settings back if I can and see if that sorts it out. But I am not doing anything else tonight as I am too buggered.

Write everything back to stock. You have either changed tyre size or made a mistake somewhere.
Feel free to send the BCM back file in a PM to me if you wish. There is a tutorial here on how to back up.
Not my tutorial but I'm not going to rewrite the book right now

Stewart, I did search for videos of how to restore and found similar to what you posted. But I didn't save each individual module or the one I modified so that video doesn't help.
I did save the original profile as prompted when I first used the program and I assumed I could use this to restore if I did something wrong. Is that the BCM back file your talking about? That video does not show what my situation is and I am not going touch this program again unless I am 100% sure of what to do.
I didn't modify any hex values in AS Built data and I know exactly what I did to cause the error and I don't think it was tyre size. I am sure it was changing a plain english value for inputs for the entertainment system.
Can you tell me how to restore from the file that I saved. Not each individual module. If this can't be done then please advise what I need to do? Nothing is malfunctioning on the car. I just can no longer modify modules like I wanted to for my upcoming long range tank. If I have to take it back to Ford and pay them to fix it then I will and I'll save every module before touching it again.

Organise to have the laptop tethered to you phone or home wifi.
Install TeamViewer so I can connect.
Send me a PM to organise a time and I will put it all back to default.
Meanwhile PM you VIN also.

Crisis Has Been Averted!
As I stated I changed a setting in the allowable inputs for the entertainment system from audio to audio & video. My hope was that I could disable the ridiculous feature of only allowing voice commands for navigation while the car was moving. I saw someone achieved this editing the hexadecimal AS Built APIM module for an F150 truck. So I went into my non-AS Built, APIM module and saw that option which was the closest thing to what I wanted to achieve. I must say I didn't think it would fix it but I had no idea it would crash Forscan; that is stop it from writing and syncing data with the constant error:
"DTC P160A is set when the PCM/TCM detects and mismatch in configuration data (VIN, Tyre size, axle, radio.... etc)........ "
Well the fix was to go back in and change the entertainment to audio only and then Forscan synced the changes no worries. Everything is back to normal.
I am usually fairly reasonable with computers and watched Stewarts video heaps of times so I though I knew what to do. What I didn't realise at the time was the big emotional stake I had with my new car. And I was shocked and scared so I wanted to canvass everyones opinion before I touched it again.
Thanks Stewart for your offer of remotely restore the vehicle to the factory settings. That offer gave me the courage to go back in and fix the issue I created in the first place. I guess I will just have to accept that the navigation input settings on Sync 3 cannot be changed?
I am confident I can change my fuel volume when I get my new tank in a couple of weeks. I am going to save all the AS Built modules as recommended as I am sure there are a million and one other ways to stuff things up and having the module code saved will be very valuable. Thanks again for everyones help.

This describes my issue exactly, I also wish I had saved the original config....
I have only connected once...changed the audio because I have fitted an aftermarket unit instead of the sync2....and ffftz...no longer can I access the modules to view or mod...is it as easy as shutting down Forscan and rebooting the laptop to access the modules again?
