SSM 46625 - Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) - Repairs Require A Repair Validation Code (RVC)

Dealers are reminded that prior to replacement of an APIM, diagnosis is required. For additional information, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 415-00, Diagnosis and Testing, APIM. Guided Routine APIM hardware tests have been introduced for selected pinpoint tests. Upon completion of the tests, an RVC code will be generated. The RVC code will be required for ALL Ford paid repairs. This is applicable for all vehicles with SYNC, SYNC 2 and SYNC 3. Claims submitted withouta valid RVC code, may be subject to review. Refer to Product Information Letter(PIL) 17/01 (Australia/New Zealand) or General Service Bulletin (GSB) 17AP/002 (AP countries other than Australia/New Zealand) for further information. SSM: 46625
