SSM 46614 - 2011-2017 Ranger Vehicles Equipped With a 2.2L or 3.2L Engine - Air Cleaner Element Replacement When Carrying Out Turbocharger Replacement
Dealers are advised that any Ranger that is presenting with concerns that lead to a turbocharger replacement must have the air cleaner element replaced as per Workshop Manual Section 303-12B/C Intake Air Distribution and Filtering. Dealersare advised that the air cleaner element will only be covered by warranty with a turbocharger warranty claim. Poor filtration is the leading cause of premature/repeat turbocharger failure. Any turbocharger replacement warranty claims completed without an air cleaner element replacement will be subject to review and possible claim rejection. SSM: 46614
