Vehicles Fitted with Rear Parking Aid Camera - White Fixed Guidelines Intermittently Missing when Reverse Gear is Selected

Issue: Some 2015-2016 Ranger vehicles built up to 19-Jul-2016 equipped with rear parking aid camera may experience a condition where the white fixed guidelines are intermittently missing when reverse gear is selected.

Action: Should a vehicle present with the above condition, technicians are advised to follow the Service Instruction below.

Service Instruction

1. Connect IDS to vehicle.

2. Perform a rear parking aid camera configuration using IDS release 101.02 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Calibration files may also be obtained from the Professional Technicians Society website – Select Rotunda - Diagnostic Tool Support - IDS Support - Module Reprogramming.

(1). Select: Electrical>Service Functions>LIN New Module Initialization.

3. If step 2 does not resolve the concern, replace the rear parking aid camera (see Parts Information). For additional information, refer to Ranger Workshop Manual Section 413-13B, Removal and Installation, Rear Parking aid camera.
