This is probably a silly question but hopefully I can still get an answer.....
If you put a tune through your auto gearbox, does that over write the factory programming in the TCM? Or does it just improve what is already there?
The reason I ask is that I hopefully will be getting a new TCM installed this week or next week at the latest but was wondering if I just tune the current TCM if that would fix my issues?
I hope my question makes sense....
Thanks in advance.

If you are talking about a tune you upload from an Ngauge or similar then yes, that will delete the current tune and reflash it with your chosen tune.69Moonshyne wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2019 6:02 pm This is probably a silly question but hopefully I can still get an answer.....

Having no idea what trans issues you are having it is impossible to say if a tune will fix them.

Just wait. It will not be a calibration file issue as this is why they are replacing the whole module. If it was a file issue then every vehicle in your model would have the same issue as yourself.
It may be a faulty TCM but it could also be the other end which is inside the transmission.
A tune file is just a modified version of the factory file, but in this case it is only a portion of it and is why we do not need to run specific procedures to re link the TCM back to the vehicle.
