Julie and I have decided to become National Park Hosts in the NT and WA.
Basically its a volunteer role just keeping the toilet paper supplies up, hosing out the showers ( if they are provided ) and generally just collecting the camping fees, make sure the campers behave themselves and have a good time and in return the hosts are provided with a free premium camping site ( normally with a weather proof cover ) water and 240 volt power ( at some locations) in return for around 3 hours work per day but Oh, my - the paperwork involved in becoming a volunteer is a real hassle.
To become a "host" you need to obtain a National Police Check and a "Working with Children" National ( not just a NSW State ) certificate as well as providing a valid Covid-19 vaccination certificate -- it makes me wonder why we even considered bothering.
Has anyone else done this and if so what have your experiences been ? Have they been positive or negative and for how long were you are certain camps ? Both the WA and NT require a three week stay at each camp site as a minimum which is fine by us as we are looking at being away for around 20 weeks per year.
We are looking at hosting in WA (The Gibb River Road ) and in the NT ( Litchfield and Kakadu ) in 2023 and 2024.

WA might require 3 doses of the Kovid jab, possibly 4 is our Dear Leader says so. These are not boosters in WA but part of the "normal course"

Interesting, I wonder if ScoMo and Albo had four vaccinations before their foray into WA to garner support for an election that has yet to be announced ?
Or for that matter if your supreme leader is gong to self isolate on his return to WA after appearing in Sydney for defending the defamation case with that rotund idiot Clive Palmer from Queensland, he bleats about Australia being in debt in his prompts for his new political party but omits to say that he moved his company from Australia to NZ to avoid having to pay owed superannuation to his ex-employees.

Why no boosters in WA ? We two had our two Astra-Zeneca vaccinations in May and August 2021 and then a Pfizer booster four months later in January 2022 and we can book for a second Pfizer booster ( a 4th vaccination ) in May of this year along with our annual 'flu vaccinations - the Commonwealth takes good care of us old farts especially as I have COPD or emphysema as it used to be called. It's a disease that in my case was totally self inflicted from smoking up to three hand rolled Cuban cigars a day.
