Some things to note.
Alternator settles at about 25 amps with no input to battery. It may drop lower if I disconnected second battery.
Battery came up to 96% even though I had dual battery mode enabled and second battery installed. I did have both charging at the caravan park to about 91%.
I had to end up getting fuel. The below shots are when I stopped at the servo. Fuel gauge in orange with 37 km to empty and showing 1.18% fuel left. This is with bending to arm 2mm over ARB's specs. I put 134 litres into the tank so figures are pretty close I reckon.
End result was that I used 11.2 lph calculated. I no that my Speedo is out around 1.? kph so that works out. Will adjust afe in cluster to suit.
I think it really would have been 10.1 lph if I had not done 900km on this tank with city day to day driving. I start cold, drive 20km then stop and do the same thing again at the end of the day, so it was not an ideal test with this tank.
Also I have larger tyres and weigh 2.9t so not ideal circumstances.
The main reason for showing this is to help those with questions regarding fuel levels, DTE etc. I believe 2mm over is the sweet spot.
It isn't to get into a fuel economy war as we all drive different, have different weights, drive different roads and 95% of the figures floating around are not calculated but off the cluster. If people want to post figures though, then please only use manually calculated figures and maybe some info on tyre sizes weights, type of trip etc.
Kerry, I know your figures are correct
