Ranger Mods

Not quiet as small as the Genuine Ford ones but still small enough to leave velcro'd on the inside of the glove box and cheaper.

They are in stock locally and I test that the unit is 100% working before shipping.

If you want to rotate your tyres and currently monitor your pressures then you need this. Also handy if you need to replace any sensors.

Tool, velcro strips & full instructions supplied, they are now in the shop wp/product/tpms-sensor-training-tool/

Have you had any sensor go flat or die yet? Are the batteries replaceable?

Near on 3 years 70k and have not even had a low battery fault yet.

Sensors are 50$ odd dollars so not that bad if it lasts 5 to 10 years which I think from memory is the life span.

They are a sealed unit and batteries are non replaceable.

After having it sit on my office desk all week, I finally used it today.

It worked a treat, thanks Stewart. But what a mission to get it into programming mode! I swear it's easier to get a female going!

Don't panic just yet mine was at Springvale on Wed 31st Oct and did not arrive in Adelaide until Tuesday 6th Nov
6 days Vic to SA
Contacted Aust post after 5 days and they did not know where it was and they started an investigation as to where it was

The spares don’t have sensors. Not in the XLT anyway.

No it doesn't have one.

If it did have one it wouldn't show up until the wheel is fitted as a spare, or you rotated it in some way.

The wheel has to move to "wakeup" the sensor.

I'm just getting another set of Tyres for Everest. Ordered 5 anyway, make it easier to rotate in I guess.

Auspost are bad and not getting any better. I have had items show up in 2 days and others in 2 weeks.

I can either to express post and charge even more or the current parcel post witch can be 7 days with tracking which half the time doesn't work or cheap cheap post which I'm not comfortable with.

Once this is trained into your car, does it display the tyre pressure on the instrument cluster?

No, unfortunately...

I did a tyre rotation today and used the TPMS tool supplied by Stewart for the first time and it works perfectly!
Good instructions and the job was done in 2 minutes.

Just thought I'd give some feedback incase anyone was thinking of buying one.

hey guys i messaged in the online shop but didn't get a reply. just wondering if this will work with the MK3, as I've heard the sensors have been changed but i could be wrong. thanks

Pretty sure I replied but maybe I didn't. There is no reason it shouldn't, BCM and TPMS sensors appear to be the same.

TPMS can handle the hardware from the Ranger, but the software does not provide it. All in all, the Acutelle IPC has less memory for the software. The newer generation has more memory available and all models> 2019 can then display TPMS. Or we find someone who decrypts and adapts the software

Decrypting the software is not the problem and I have pulled it down to its bare bone but repacking vbf 2.4 is the issue.

vbf 2.3 is so much easier but there is a lot of info in say a Focus cluster, there are over 2000 files in the firmware, repacking is time consuming but can be achieved.

Current Ranger firmware cannot be flashed more so because the boot loader will not allow the it. More the location of the data is the issue.

So do we need this tool if we get the tyres rotated with the MK3? In the dash there's the option to reset the sensors? I assumed that was to reset and relearn them? How do you know if your sensors are ass about?

Good question, I looked at one the other day and I say no.

Reset is normal and PX2 also have it. By default PX3 have auto locate turned on, the assumption this works is due the the extra antennas in the doors etc due to the passive entry.

I have looked at the BCM as-built and confirmed is is definately enabled.

You will need it if you replace a sensor, add a sensor to the spare wheel and wish to rotate that.
