NP Volunteer Hosting

Julie and I have decided to become National Park Hosts in the NT and WA.
Basically its a volunteer role just keeping the toilet paper supplies up, hosing out the showers ( if they are provided ) and generally just collecting the camping fees, make sure the campers behave themselves and have a good time and in return the hosts are provided with a free premium camping site ( normally with a weather proof cover ) water and 240 volt power ( at some locations) in return for around 3 hours work per day but Oh, my - the paperwork involved in becoming a volunteer is a real hassle.
To become a "host" you need to obtain a National Police Check and a "Working with Children" National ( not just a NSW State ) certificate as well as providing a valid Covid-19 vaccination certificate -- it makes me wonder why we even considered bothering.
Has anyone else done this and if so what have your experiences been ? Have they been positive or negative and for how long were you are certain camps ? Both the WA and NT require a three week stay at each camp site as a minimum which is fine by us as we are looking at being away for around 20 weeks per year.
We are looking at hosting in WA (The Gibb River Road ) and in the NT ( Litchfield and Kakadu ) in 2023 and 2024.
