09DC. What you are seeing is HEX. Which translates to 2524 mm circumference of what your tyre actually is when taking into account the 4% difference in the odometer. This should be your starting point. PM me if you have issues with this value.So dont use 0977 or 0984 or....... start at 09DC.
To be factory the odometer on the cluster has to read 4kph lower at 100kph GPS. This will mean the odometer and DTE is 100% correct.
Everyone else changing cluster speed to the same as GPS speed has really done 104,000 km when your odometer only shows 100,000 km. This also means your service intervals are over if done by the manual.
Can you image someone with 285's with no change. The odometer is about 8% out, so that nice vehicle you bought with 100,000km on the odometer has really done 108,000km and it was serviced every 15,000km to the tea but in reality it was serviced every 16,200km. Whoops...........

Thanks Stewart for that I will put it in in the morning before we leave Perth and head north and see how I go, I get what you are saying it was way out when I started and yes there would be heaps of them that haven't bothered to change it and it just snowballs into everything, DTE, km done servicing etc.

Well over the last two days have done
09DC = spanner light / about 5% out
09DD = spanner light / perfect 4%
09C8 = no spanner so far just over 3%, so at 100kph set on cruise control getting 97kph on GPS and 104kph cruise control getting 100-101kph GPS
not quite 4% lower, but still no spanners yet.
I'm going to leave it on this and see how it goes, I might go a little lower when I get further North and have more straight roads to test it on.

Just change it to 0977. It will be the closest you will get and will be within 1kph.

So it appears that the IPC pulls the odometer value from the PCM.
Changing just the BCM will not affect the odometer then (speed and odometer 2 different things ), the change that will help keep the odometer correct needs to be made in line 7E0-01-01 of the PCM where tyre size is.
Ideally PCM and BCM should be changed.

I got around to trying the 09F8 for 255/85/16 and 0984 for the 265/65/18 tonight, the 09F8 threw up an error, but the 0984 is working perfectly and by happy chance 0984 with the larger 255/85/16 is almost exact for the speedo, maybe 1kph under what's indicated on the dash.
So I expect when I put the 265/65/18's back on in a couple of weeks it will be back towards the factory 4%. Thanks Saeb.

I'm running 285/75R16s (2619mm) on my '16 manual. I found 09E7 was chucking a PCM code; P0825: 00-AC Gear lever Push/Pull switch etc...
I may have missed something (wouldn't surprise me if I did) while reading over the thread, but the jist I got was that manuals aren't supposed to be throwing these sort codes? Hahaha.
Anyhoo, I've found running 09D5 (285/74R16, 2601mm) hasn't given me any issues. It's the closest I've got yet.
I might even possibly try 284/75R16 (2614mm) 09E2 and see if that throws a code.

Anyway, yes, you're right Stewart, I have set mine to 0984 with 285/65/17 tyres. The odometer and speed on the scangauge are spot on (by GPS comparison) and my speedo shows about 6% high as per factory. My DTE for the 140l fuel tank displays pretty well spot on as well, as far as I can tell anyway.

They will throw a fault code over 0984 unless PCM changes are also made. You do not have access to PCM changes in Forscan. If you're are ever in the area then I could change the PCM for you. As yet we haven't been able to come up with a reason for it, even had Ford looking at it since new (now almost 12 months later) for this fault code in that time ford has re-routed the aircon drain, changed the neutral position switch 3 times, replaced the ECU, done a partial replacement of the wiring harness, and on Monday they are going to be changing the clutch switch - and that list doesn't include all the testing that they have also done on various parts trying to find the reason.
just out of curiosity - how often do you get the fault to come up ?? .... for me it is pretty intermittent - but usually happens just after changing from 3rd to 4th after exiting a roundabout and doing a relatively quick gear change (approx. 60kph).
edit: my Tyres are 285/70R17 and I used 0977 as the size code

Gone straight back to 0987 as I never had an issue there.
As far as how often? Usually only have a few KMs... This most recent one took a while though.

It might just be a coincidence we're both had the same fault code...….. Ford did have a couple of 'Fixes' for this error, so that might suggest that others have had the same thing happen.... mine might do it a couple times in a day - but then it might be weeks before it happens again

Has anyone tried to change axle ratio do correct speedometer? It could be a solution in order to avoid the 0977 limitation

I don't believe so. Being your vehicle is a 2013 the 0977 change does not exist anyway. Pretty sure you can change your axle ratio though.

Thought i would drop my 2 cents in here, in case its of any help to others.
Ive got a 2017 PX2 Sync 3 ranger AUTO. 265/70R17 tyres.
I cant go any higher than 0977 with out throwing a TCM error ( as i believe this is the problem with the autos )
Worth a thought though, i had Ford do a PCM update to stop the nasty engine rattle when she is cold, now i cant get below 11L / 100ks.
I used to get around 10L /100 after making the first BCM tyre size change to 0977.
I just checked and the 0977 change is still there, so something in Fords PCM update is chewing more fuel. Im tempted to ask them to change it back.

PCM update would have change fuel timing, possibly pressure etc. I bet it also uses most of the extra diesel when the engine is colder. Stop start and short trips in the cold will see a higher usage but once out on the hwy the numbers are better. Warmer seasons should also see an improvement in fuel economy.
Dealers software cannot restore to an earlier firmware version so you are pretty much stuck with it.
Tyre size before after or anytime will have zero effect on fuel economy.
