I have the Forscan Lite app and one of the parameters I monitor constantly is Battery State of Charge (SOC)
I have noticed lately that it never gets much above 50% SOC so wondering if this is an indication the battery is on the way out ? ( 2.5 yr old battery )
I have put a charger on the battery overnight but still says 50%.
If I do get a new battery I won't be going to Ford as they will be way overpriced. I'll go to an aftermarket place who I assume will just replace it and not reset the parameters.
I am travelling and do not have a PC with me for full Forscan, so wil it matter ?

If it's the OME battery I would say at 2.5years old it probably needs replacing.
They are a Calcium battery and need 16volts to properly charge.
Even in DBM they rarely exceed 80% capacity.
Regarding battery replacement when mine was replaced there was no need to reset anything, battery out and another in, done.

Got my 2016 WT serviced today (at Ford) for its 3y/60km service (only got 32k on it), they gave the factory batt a 100% State of Health. Their service report card says Factory sec CCA 740, Actual CCA 764.
I have changed the charge to maintain a SOC of 80% a while ago, seems like I got a batt made on a good day (touch wood)

2019 Wildtrak, White. Pretty much standard apart from tinting and bonnet protector.

They said mine was good when they tested it, but 4 days later it died and they put a new one in.Vicusj wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 8:21 pm Got my 2016 WT serviced today (at Ford) for its 3y/60km service (only got 32k on it), they gave the factory batt a 100% State of Health. I went home and took it out and put a quality battery in.

Hey Ross, mine is now 2yrs old, figure the battery probably doesn't have much left in it. What do you consider a good battery? I notice some sites recommend specific more powerful batteries than standard?
