To make a long story short, can I disconnect the adaptive sensor (Radar) and the have the ranger re-coded so the cruise control can work again, thus bypassing the radar. The radar and bracket are faulty, I have no money and I have some long drives coming up and I want cruise control back. Can it be done? At present the adaptive cruise control tells me it is off every time I start the car and anything in relation to the cruise control is greyed out on the menu so I can't go that way. The radar needs to be disconnected and the computer told it doesn't have a radar, that's the way I see it anyway....Any suggestions other than insurance or pay a fortune to replace the bracket and radar.

Not sure on the reprogramming, but have you tried any wreckers for 2nd hand bits?

On my Everest, I can set whether the cruise control operates as adaptive or as normal. Just change it to normal

I Have hade a similar issue with my 2019 trend
the spanner light came up first so I took it back to the dealer
they said the vehicle had been in an accident and the radar was damaged and needed replacing.
after I heard the cost I said not yet I will check first myself.
so I checked the radar and found it had been hit and popped out of the mounts on the bracket. the radar is fix mounted on the left side of bracket where the adjusting screws are and on the right side there are two rubber grommets that hold the locating pins.
when I did get the vehicle back from the dealer my cruise and pre collision adjustment were also grey and could not make any adjustments.
so I ran my basic scan gauge but nothing came up.
so then I did the old trick of memory deletion.
that is disconnect negative battery lead and then used some electrical wire and shorted the disconnected negative lead to the positive which is still connected to the battery. you only have to disconnect one or the other neg is easier about 5 second connection will do. Reconnect all back up took vehicle for drive selected cruise all good now working. but still need to get spanner light looked at radar may still need recal.
hope this helps
Ford need to address the position of the radar it is not in a good position tow bar height that's what I think caused the problem because we had no accidents.
