So is anyone aware of an ANZ 2021 set of maps ?
The bs up on the website states one update per year up to 2024. The Ford US site talks about a release within the first three months of the calendar year. Presumably ANZ 118, 119 and 220 relate to the month/year of release.
Hence the question about 2021 ....?
I looked up on cyan labs website which was interesting .... has anyone figured out/know how to ssh into a SYNC 3. From what I understand its a variant of Linux, therefor it should be accessible ....
Any info would be appreciated.

ANZ220 is the latest and was past to dealers last month. ANZ221 will not even be compiled until August/October this year then Dealers will see them 6 months later.neiste wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 4:35 pm So is anyone aware of an ANZ 2021 set of maps ?

Pull it apart and you can do. I currently Telnet and FTP into my test bench unit to test certain items regularly. I have a video on that process here

My Ranger was serviced last Friday. Sync 3 updated to 3.4 from 3.3. Map was 2017 and is now ANZ 2 2020.
Is here HERE which provides the map data? If so, can you compare it to what you can download for your phone apps, or the maps which the likes of Garmin and Tom Tom use?
Does Telstra's Sensis via Whereis still supply maps to Tom Tom?

You cannot edit the map package as it is specific and signed, so no sense in comparing really.mjt57 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 3:46 pmMy Ranger was serviced last Friday. Sync 3 updated to 3.4 from 3.3. Map was 2017 and is now ANZ 2 2020.

I was asking more about relevant updates between the different packages. Like, is Sensis data more up-to-date than HERE and so on and how our maps compare to them in that regard.
In any case, so far, I've had no problems with the map and nav software in the Ranger. In fact, I'd say that it's fares better than Waze which got me lost or driving around in circles on two separate occasions when we went to Melbourne.

Most map data around the world is bought from other companies who then implement and or rename them to show as theirs. I do not believe you will see much of a difference these days, it generally comes down to when the maps were compiled from the mapping data. Ford is generally September/October each year, then we see them 6 months later but in this case about 8 months.mjt57 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 11:56 amI was asking more about relevant updates between the different packages. Had the Ranger serviced by Ford over a month ago now. Asked for the maps to be updated as it was on 1 19 maps. Last year I ask for them to be updated but was told no new updates were available. This time was told it was done to the newest maps. Get in the car and off home. Checked the version and guess what. Still on 1 19 maps. Now this makes me think what else they say they have done, has been done. Due to circumstances I don't do that many klms a year. Services are done on time basis, not klms. Have only done 55,000 klms since new. Maybe 6 or 7000 klms in the year and told they have changed all the filters, oil etc. Tried to charge me for filling the washer reservoir, which I had filled 2 days before and never used. Something a bit fishy there.
Anyway they inform me that the timing cover looks like it's leaking. Guess what. This was changed last year under warranty. 11 months later it's leaking again. Good thing I booked in 11 months since last service. It's under warranty, again. Booked it in for another change. Told them that about the maps. When I picked it up I asked what else you don't do that you tell me you do. Ummm arrrr, it must have been overlooked. Sure. But it's all been done now. Before I put the car in drive and drove off I checked. So in the end, latest maps updated to 2 21.
