Im getting crazy here, maybe someone could verify if i am or not.
I had mine Limited for 30k service last weeks, and asked them to change bulb on 4WD selector. Not the bulbs which lights up 2H, 4H, 4L under the selector, but in the selector knob itself. Im pretty sure there was a bulb in there, because you cannot see selectors position in the dark. But service guys told me that no bulbs where replaced, since there is no bulb in that selector, and that i am imagining stuff Am i going crazy?

No, but you gave me an idea!

Forget the idea. It is basically sealed unit and any attempt to dissemble may break it.

At the end of the day the instrument cluster will show if you are in high 4 or low 4 so turning the knob will show this.

I don't understand why but there is definitely no light there.

Dammit. So they were right. Why have Ford not put a light in that knob... Or could have used the knob as a controller for the bulbs under letters.

A globe there would help but the symbols on the console are very easy to see.

All comes down to cost.
