Hey all

just looking for some help, i have changed the standard headlights (halogen) out on my PX3 2021 XL 4WD Ranger to the 2021 XLT/Wildtrak
(Bi-LED Type) headlights

issue im having is the DRL (LED Strip) is going out after a few minutes or a hour, sometime both headlight DRLs will go out or only one DRL will go out
all other functions of the headlights work 100% correct. low beam, high beam, park light etc and have no issues

i have gone into forscan and looked at all the DRL settings in my PX3 XL and compared these my friends 2021 wildtrak and all the settings were the same, i just changed blub type to LED not halogen

i am getting fault codes for both DRLs when they go out, B124A:11 right side and B124B:11 left side. (Circuit sort to ground), i have checked the headlight wiring pins and locations and the are correct
so i am now starting to wonder if the bright DRL LEDs are drawing to much current and popping the FETS in the BCM.... so maybe the Wildtrak and XLTs have a DRL relay or a different code in the BCM...

Any help or ideas would be great

Hi there

DRLs are on the factory pins and connectors, wiring. nothing has been changed
40 and 36 from the BCM plug and headlights pins 7 on the headlight connectors
Dedicated DRL circuit

that code is the same in my BCM already
726-26-02 xxxx-xxx0-xxxx

just checked the wildtrak code and its different
726-26-02 XXXX XXX2 xxC

Worth a try?

There are 4 types. So you can try from 0 to 4.

Yes looks like MY21.75 is 2 so I'm happy with that.

Checksum

Both are frequency related. Last change is either DRL or Low Beam frequency. Documents are not clear which is which.

Checksum is calculated by Forscan. I is based over the whole block so whatever Forscan put there is correct. Last 2 characters of each line is checksum.

You cannot change the Checksum. Forscan will self calculate and fix it. Ignore the last 2 characters of every line block, they are irrelevant to you.
