Surging up and down on no throttle until it stalls. It happened at 20k and now at 53k.
Had a good chat with a very knowledgeable Ford Tech I know who I will catch up with on Monday and will show me a free way that should fix this issue.
Basically the dealer will usually say bad fuel, pull a heap of stuff apart and charge like a wounded bull.
This fix should make it a cheap and effective way to resolve this issue without the dealer reaming you. It appears to be a buildup of crap on a solenoid inside the fuel pump because our fuel is of such high quality, not. After performing this procedure he has never seen the issue rear its head again even on the same vehicle after 100k.
No fault codes and he has seen this issue a ton of times over the years. It is not a faulty crank angle sensor for those thinking along those lines.
If it resolves it there will be pictures to come and is something else to keep in your bag of tricks if you are stuck with the issue in the middle of nowhere.
