I have purchased a Western Filters Donaldson Pre Filter Fuel Sepearator Kit. This mounts to the Provent Kit I have just installed.

Silly question but one step says to remove the Fuel Feed Line into the Factory Filter.

Now there are 4 lines running to this Factory Filter 2 are for Tank with arrows facing to front and rear of car and the other is 2 are for the Engine with the same arrows facing front and rear.

I "assume" the line I need to remove and hook up to the Secondary Filter is the one FROM the Tanks facing the Front of the car indicating it is coming From the Tank?

Is this right? Just want to be 100%.

I just put a fuel manager pre filter in mine, I don't have the instructions with me at the moment, but I took out the larger of the hoses with the red clip that was pretty much in the centre of the factory fuel filter assembly, and the corresponding end that connected to the solid pipe from the tank

Yes it was a RED hose and was in the middle if the 4 attached to the factory filter. The arrow pointed to the front of vehicle so assumed that was From the tank so now all plumbed in and looks the goods.
Now to figure out how to attach pictures?

Here is the picture of the finished product. Provent and Fuel Filter fitted using same mount. Looks pretty good and very happy.

What is the recommended micron size of the pre-filter? Kits seem to supply 30 micron, some 11. If post-filter better and/or recommend?

Every manufacture states something different. No one wants to agree and everyone knows more than the other.

If I were to do one I would go pre-filter only and probably the 30 micron. Remember the OEM filter is 5 micron from factory and you could nearly bet that by the time water has hit the first filter it would most likely have hit the second filter by the time you turned the vehicle off.

Well firstly what ever you install its a PRE filter, so a 30 micron will be fine, a 30 micron filter also wont put any undue strain on the primary fuel pump, that's the one in the tank that circulates fuel to the filter(s) and the fuel injection pump.

The other thing to consider is that the primary fuel pump in the tank will deliver/pump around 60 litres an hour, so if you have a standard 80 litre fuel tank it will circulate (and filter) every drop of fuel in your tank every 80 or so minutes - assuming you're using some of the fuel to drive of course so your pre filter doesn't want to be too fine - as in say a 5 micron filter otherwise it will become clogged very quickly leaving the main OEM filter starved for fuel.

The main reason for installing a pre filter is to remove the rocks and boulders out of the diesel and any WATER leaving the main OEM filter to do what its designed for, delivering clean fuel to your injectors. In my opinion, a Pre Filter is an essential.

Something I considered when I installed my Pre Filter....

If I was to install a POST filter.. how would you know if the filter had become clogged and caused a fuel restriction, isn't the flow restriction sensor on the factory filter...

Whereas if the PRE filter and/or OEM filter became blocked the OEM filter would be able to alert you to the problem before any damage was done..

Due to clumsy hands by the local service station after I had them do a 15000 k service I had three different colour fuel hose ends, two red, one blue and a white. All with varied types of clip. Being pedantic I obtained a full set of hoses off a Facebook Ranger site and replaced them today, my advice to anyone considering doing this -- think long and hard !!!
Again, you need 12" long fingers with pectoral muscles at each joint and a patience that exceeds that of Job. I delayed the replacement until it came due for the regular fuel filter change and found that to do it I needed to remove the Provent 150 oil catch can as well as most of the throttle body.
