Sync 3 Android Auto night mode auto lights - help

Can anyone confirm with Sync 3 and Android Auto if their Google maps is swapping to night mode when the headlights come on?

If yes, then Sync 3 version. Phone model and Android Auto version number.

Yes. Android Auto goes to night mode when I turn headlights on.

BTW, I resolved this by doing a full phone reset as android auto would never change to night mode.
