Hi all, one of my mates has a PX2 and he has hit a stump and smashed his radar unit. He doesn't really use the tech pack functions, but now his cruise control wont work at all due to the radar giving an error each time he turns the car on. Is there a way to turn the tech pack off all together and turn it into a factory car without tech pack? Again, he doesn't need the functions and just wants to get rid of the error message and use cruise control.
Cheers,
Evert

Too cold and wet to go out and check, but I think there's a menu item in the right hand screen to turn the adaptive bit off. Worth a look and turning it off to see it that fixes his problem?

Ok, he has tried this already and it didn't work. He cant use cruise control without the adaptive bit as it throws an error and apparently kills everything.

Latest Forscan, IPC module configuration.
Disable "Adaptive Cruise Control".

Thanks Stewart, we will give that a go. Does that turn the radar unit off completely? As mentioned, his radar is busted and it is throwing error codes that I am not able to clear.

Cannot turn it off completely without removing it. Remove it then we need to start changing a ton of other stuff. That change should remove the adaptive option from the cluster so should stop the visual warning and error.
Let me know how that goes.

Hey mate, we had another go at it today, but unfortunately no bingo. I first turned the Adaptive Cruise Control off in the IPC. Went for a drive and cruise still doesn't work. I can get the cruise control symbol to show up whilst driving, but it is grey and you cannot set the speed.
We tried to reset the C-CM module. No change.
We tried recalibrating the C-CM module, followed the instructions and went for a drive to let it calibrate. The calibration message disappears from the cluster and it is then replaced again by the collision assist not available error.
Could it be that the radar is just not in the correct position? As mentioned, he hit a stump and had to bend the radar unit back. Maybe it's not back/straight, or maybe the unit is just broken.
I've attached the DTC and a photo of the radar unit.
Thanks for the help mate.

The radar module needs to be level and you would want the brackets to be very close to where they were before damage to make sure the horizontal is good.
From the PX2 manual,
vertical alignment:
Must be on level surface.
Use a combination square/level. Keeping the combination square level on the face of the CCM, adjust the pitch by using an E20 Torx® bit to
adjust the screw until the CCM is vertical and level.
Horizontal Alignment
NOTE: The horizontal alignment for the CCM is a software calibration. No manual adjustment is needed for this
procedure. The scan tool calibrates the CCM through the CCM procedure in programmable parameters.
7. NOTICE: The vehicle's engine must be running during the horizontal alignment procedure. Failure to
leave the engine running throughout the entire procedure results in the cancellation of the alignment
procedure and the system remains nonfunctional.

Thanks gents, we will try and align the radar unit again and then do another calibration. @twodogs, the unit was always behind that little cover. We haven't moved it, it was just bent backwards.

Im looking to perform similar troubleshooting steps.
Was the C-CM module calibration initiated from your Forscan beta application. or is this another set of tools?

your radar looks as if it has been remounted over to the left looking front on.
there are three holes used to mount the radar. The radar is normally mounted in the center of the opening.
mine was also dislodged by a tow ball i think as it has not been off road yet.
it also bran bought up the spanner light and the cruise and pre-collision stopped working. on inspection.
ford dealer said radar needed to be replaced at approx $2000.
I said no I will look at it just as well. so I repaired the radar bracket and the radar fitted it back. didnt have forscan then so I disconnected the battery shorted the leads out to discharge all software memory bingo the cruise and pre-collsion now functioning.
but the radar may still require recal ????

PX3 or pre 2019 are mounted in the middle, PX2 are on the driver side behind soft plastic.alanbrae wrote: ↑Sun Jun 14, 2020 6:58 pm your radar looks as if it has been remounted over to the left looking front on.
