SSM 46718 - 2013-2017 Ranger and Everest/Endeavour Vehicles Equipped with a 3.2L Diesel Engine and 6R80 Transmission – Torque Converter Concern

Some 2013-2017 Ranger and Everest/Endeavour vehicles equipped with a 3.2L diesel engine and 6R80 transmission may experience a loss of drive due to the torque converter base plate detaching from the flex plate. Dealers are advised to lodgea GCR with the following: 1.Attach photos of the rear of the engine with the dowels shown. 2.Attach photos of the torque converter with the batch number shown.3.Include the symptoms experienced by the customer at the time of failure. 4.Include the vehicle drive condition(static/driving) at the time of failure. 5.Check for residual grease in the crank bore and converter pilot. 6.Check for cracks on the flex plate. 7.Replace the flex plate (base part number 6375)and the torque converter assembly (base part number 7902) together.
