Hello,

I apologise in advance if this has already been covered here, however my searching could not located a similar post.

I have a Nov 2015 Ford Everest Trend 3.2ltr. Recently I have ad to have my glow plugs replaced as for of the 5 failed.

We thought that was the only issue. Since then our engine warning light has turned back on and now the code that has been read by the diagnostic reader is RDCM1 (reductant Control Module) P20BA:00-64 Reductant Heater #A Control Performance.

I have contacted Ford and tried to get my vehicle into a service department, the did not return my calls. I then had my partner just turn up to the dealer on the Gold Coast and they advised that they would need the car all day to diagnose the issue, but no replacement vehicle until May. Issue is we have children and this our family vehicle with kids seats etc. Then they strongly advised that we should not be driving the vehicle at all. once again not happening as we don't have another alternate vehicle.

They would then most little need the car for a week to fix the problem once they figure out what it is??? still no loan vehicle till May.

So I have done some googling and seen that it is possibly the Adblue heat pump. Since we don't get below -12 degrees its not really needed in Aus anyway. Some people have had it replaced for around $2000. but no guarantee that it will not fail in another 3-5 years. I have also seen that others have replaced this themselves for around $400.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue themselves and what they recommend?

Glow plugs will not throw a CEL so usually don't bother replacing them unless you live in extremely cold area, this tells me that RDCM was most likely the original fault causing the CEL.

Make sure that your PCM/engine computer was updated when the glow plugs were done or it will happened again. If it was a dealer repair then it would have been done already otherwise it will be doubtful.

Adblue tank heaters are prone to failure in these models so it would need to be replaced. Issue with not replacing is that you will not know if another issue is causing a CEL as it will already be displayed.

APIM DTC can be ignored.

Thanks Stewart,
The original error codes I had were as follows:
P204F
P20BA
P0671(00), P0672(00), P0673(00) & P0675(00) these ones all to do with the glow plugs failing. So I did get them replaced.

After replacing the glow plugs the errors that are still coming up are what's in my photo. So I am trying to get it into the dealer to get it diagnosed properly. But after reading all the forums it sounds like it will be the adblue tank heater. Which I don't understand we need as we don't get below -12 degrees in Australia.
