Well I found the cause of my air conditioning not working, I knew it was out of gas and suspected a cracked pipe, no such luck once the plastic grille had been removed the damage was plain to see, a stick had entered one of ther holes in the undertray plate the cover plate - the one with the 6 big holes stamped in it and stabbed a hole in the condenser. $750 !!!
To replace it I will have to remove the Radiator and intercooler then get the system evacuated and recharged

A quick update, the new condenser was only $380, the quote of $750 that I was originally given was for for an exchange compressor !
