Never looked at one but I'm sure the BCM is different on an XL, also you may not have the fog light button. Feel free to take a photo of the BCM, module where all the fuses are inside the cabin and also a picture of your light switch then we can go from there.

You're right, the XL doesn't come with the fog light button. Im chasing around looking for one out of an XLT.
Hopefully I've gotten a picture of the right spot...

As-built needs to be changed in the instrument cluster also for it to display.

Forgot you have a different cluster. Assuming the cluster has the fog light symbol then the change will be i;

Module IPC asbuilt.

720-01-02 xxxx-1xxx

Yours would most likely be xxxx-0xxx

Note x values are not to be changed.

If not already, you will need Forscan and an appropriate adaptor to make these changes.

I installed the fog lights as well, but there's no wires around to install a switch I suppose I'll need to buy a new stalk, I've found a new stalk on ebay UK, I think it fits my truck, but I'm not really sure, I have to ask someone here first. As you can see, here in south america only the XLT comes with the new interior, XLS and XL comes with the old dahsboard before the facelift

You may be on your own with that. So it is old dash but is it PX2 modules or old style CCC PX1 programming.

We do not have any of these cross component style vehicles here.

https://www.varaosahaku.fi/fi-en/Search ... -13335-EA/ I found this part, didn't know ranger had that option for automatic headlights. Has anyone here done that retrofit?

I don't believe your vehicle would have the light sensor for auto to work. But by all means try it.

no it doesn't have, my xlt doesn't have it as well, I know it comes in the mirror and my mirror is a standard one. That's why I'm asking if someone have done that retrofit before? in vag is very easy, you can buy the mirror with the loom in aliexpress and there's a lot of information in several forums where to connect the new pins. Unfortunately I can't find that information for ranger and the mirror is only available in european disposal facilities

Auto light on sensor in a PX2 with a PX2 dash is in the middle of the dash board near the windscreen so different to yours again.

There is a light sensor in our mirrors but used for other features.

so I tried to enable my fog lights with forscan tool, I only encountered a chart with hexadecimal codes, no documentation at all. I really don't know what to do. Isn't there a more powerful tool out there that can let me survey all the option in the bcm? Otherwise I would need the chart of another ranger PX1 with the fog lights enabled so I can try to change mine

Yes, read this thread for PX1. PX2 information has no relevance to your vehicle https://www.saeb.net/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1213
