Hi All.
I was wondering if there's a way to reset all the electronics back to factory, I just bought a 2019 Wildtrak and after plugging in the OBDLink MX+ I have discovered it has error codes everywhere. I took it to my local Ford dealership but they claim there's nothing that can be done? Surely that's not true and the various modules can be re-flashed or something? At present it has no cruise control, front camera or pre-collision settings as they are greyed out. I only want to get the vehicle back to standard, it has no chip or tune that I am aware of, although I suspect it may have had given all the issues it is showing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

So this is a vehicle you have currently purchased?

There is no reset button and everything needs to be done manually. If you want to arrange a visit in Perth then send me a message and we can work out the logistics from there so I can write everything back to factory.

Hi Stewart, yes I have had it for about a month now and it has been to two Ford dealerships here in Perth. I have an OBDLink that is the black version and it is what showed me the codes. I am at work until Friday so I can't do a screen shot of them all but there are at least 10 that come up and Ford have told me they're waiting for to hear back from someone further up the food chain.

Don't assume just because you have DTCs that there is an actual issue. Did you try to clear them?

98% of vehicle I plug into will have multiple DTCs. They could have been caused by a simple thing as a battery being disconnected etc.

If they clear but come back and are persistent then ok, but at the same time in an MY19+ is it common to have a couple present that actually mean nothing whatsoever. I can induce DTCs that are irrelevant if need be as some modules do have factory typing faults that show a DTC present when it really should be.

Engine check light should be the main concern.

Hi Stewart, I have tried to clear them and I can't. It is throwing codes in PCM and TCM and and a few other areas that I can't remember. I have sent you a PM and I am home on Friday and will do a screen shot to show what I am talking about.

You either have a short in a CANBUS line or asbuilt is incorrect. I would make a guess that the SCCM is faulty or asbuilt is wrong though.

Can look into it but you will need Teamviewer installed then arrange a day for me to log on and diagnose.

I'm not going to look up every DTC individually to look at the description. Feel free to post screen shot of each DTC to save me time.

Thanks Stewart. I have a screen shot of each fault that I can upload, the car goes in on Thursday to have "something" replaced by Ford and then I am off to Karijini in it for 2 weeks.

Similar to what I fixed remotely today for another user that played to much with Forscan today.

SCCM and APIM has bad asbuilt and has been changed by someone so I'm going to make an assumption the rest is the same. Some can be ignored.

Ford may or may not fix it or be able to depending on what current data is on the server.

So I managed to clear a few faults with Forscan, but I wasn't brave/dumb enough to attempt to do the PCM or IPMA as when I loaded the factory settings it told me that they didn't match the current settings/number of blocks so I left them alone. At least now I am not driving an American car and the steering controls work, except for the cruise control which should be repaired tomorrow (fingers crossed) Also has the spanner pop up on the dash which indicated engine oil degradation, but the car was serviced before I picked it up according to the book, anyway checked the oil and it was black as so I changed it and the filter. . . . spanner has now gone, how does it know when the oil is past it's use-by date, does it measure viscosity or pH or something?
Cheers

All fixed, replaced part #JB3Z 3F791 CD with the description "HOUSING STRG CLUM" and carried out a PCM update all under warranty. Thanks Mc Inerneny Ford!
