I plugged in to Forscan the other day, first time in ages, just to check a few things. I've noticed my fuel economy going up a little especially when towing.

Logged in and found the tank size was showing 80 instead of 140 and also noted the tyre circumference had also reverted back to standard. All other changed settings were still ok.

So, I redid the tank to 140 and set the tyre size to match my 285s. No problems or faults, so it will be interesting to see how things go.

I have no idea why those values would have changed?

Modules do not save factory config so the only way is if the data is written. Cannot tell you anymore than that.

Threw a 'spanner' light today. I think I might've pushed the boundaries for the tyre size a bit too far. I had originally adjusted it using the as-built to hex 0984, which is 2436mm circumference, without any issues.

However, the latest Forscan now does a direct circumference input using non-asbuilt, so last week I entered 2520, which is what my 285's should be. It's been ok up until now so I'll see how it goes. If it throws a spanner at me again, I'll try trimming it down a bit. It's a manual, so apparently it accepts higher values than an auto, but not sure what the upper limit is?

Bugga! Started our 2 month holiday towing the van over to WA and started throwing spanner lights.

I'll adjust the tyre size down to 2423 in the morning and see how it goes. I just realised that Ford uses a corrected value and this figure is the max for a 6 speed manual.

Is the non asbuilt circumference entry the only change needed, or is there something else I'm missing? Also, do I need to do a relearn on the PCM module, which I saw mentioned in another, older thread on this issue?

Car drives fine, although my economy readout seems high also.

asbuilt, non asbuilt is the same thing. dec vs hex.

Change in BCM 726-12-01 xxxx-0984-xxxx

You enter 2520mm and then hex will be 09D8 which is well above you limit. Not sure if the circumference they added took my calculations into account but the info was given about 3 years ago.

So today I threw a spanner light again, but only once under hard acceleration. Checked tonight and I had a PCM P0825 Gear lever push pull circuit and a P1635 Tyre/axle out of range.

No idea about the first code and just reset it. However, the second code had me searching. In the BCM non asbuilt, if I enter 2423, the non asbuilt reads 0977. If I enter 0984 into as built the non asbuilt goes to 2436, which is beyond the max value I believe.

So I've left it at 2423/0977 for now. I then found another Tyre circumference entry in the PCM which was different again, so I changed that to 2423 also. I reset all DTCs and we'll see what happens tomorrow.

I also have an APIM U0452 Invalid data from restraints control module, which reset. I'm assuming that's because I turned off the seatbelt warning chimes? Not worried about that one though.

Hopefully tomorrow will be spanner light free. :)
