You have a pre DPF Ranger, the EGT sensor for that PID does not exist, hence 4.99volt = 1000 degrees =open circuit.

Ok thanks Stewart, is the only way to monitor egt is with a pyrometer in the exhaust bung. Post turbo? What’s the pyrometer in the exhaust manifold for?
