Hi guys,

Sorry if this has been posted before, I've done a search on the threads but cant find anything obvious on previous posts.
This is probably a noob question so slate me if needed lol

I'm going in for my 30k service and just wondering if ford would do anything that removes all my forscan mods.
Only reason im taking it to ford is because they noticed a leak on the rear seal a few months back and said they'd recheck it at the 30k service under warranty.
All ill be asking them to do is check the seal, and update the maps and sync 2 if required. My servicing will be done by another mechanic in the future but this being under warranty i figured they would need to see it anyway.
Kind regards
Ryan

I doubt they'd even notice. I have a number of fairly obvious mods such as silent mode, DRL including the menu, climate control menu,, 4WD menu etc. I also have my dual battery voltage set to 14 volts, which actually displays a warning internally. I had my 15,000k service at Ford, including a PCM update and not a mention was made. Whether they noticed or not, I have no idea.

Hey Gerry, what is the warning or DTC you get at 14v?

Hi Stewart,

I'd have to go and have a look to remind myself, but I did notice in one of the modules it came up with a DTC warning message. It wasn't on the page where you set the voltage though. I ignored it as I assumed it was because the dual battery setting was neither on nor off, but somewhere in between?

All works fine though. I can check it out if you like?

Could well be a different DTC altogether. Not to worry mate, its not important. As you know there is nearly always a DTC for something.

I actually went to check it Stewart and I can't get the dongle and Forscan to talk to each other... I posted the problem here.

Here you go stewart... a couple of screen shots. The first shows the 'error' against the battery PID and the second shows the selection box contents. So it seems they've removed the voltage choices from Forscan.

Error is fine Gerry.

From memory I gave you a beta copy with the extra function to be able to choose your own voltage. You have since upgraded Forscan to the version without this option and I think I asked it to be removed until we had enough time to test it on a longer term.

Error is that Single = 12 and Dual = 16, so 14 = error as it is not recognised. So all good.

The Engine on and door open chimes are still there in silent mode, for me anyway.

Yes, as Rosspat says, some chimes are still there, but nothing too annoying. But it's great when camping that you can lock/unlock without so much as a peep or a flash. :D

But keep in mind if you're going to enable silent mode then it is only another 10 second procedure to remove the other chimes.

Depends on whether you want to use it on a phone or pad later on. If just to program with a laptop then get this one viewtopic.php?f=56&t=393 if for iphone at a later date then the RED obdlink or if all your mobile devices are Android then RED or BLACK.

Programming is PC only and can use any of the devices.
