Keep in mind I do not have a DPF. The maths will have to be sorted but I can help with that if I have some comparisons between your Forscan output and Scangauge output.

The % values should work without math changes from the data I have worked out.

Can only go by the data I have and with no DPF its difficult. I'm thinking 2 bytes per pressure sensor, one in front and one behind the DPF.

One of the will be the important one so once its sorted it will be added to the list.

I'll certainly try these out and report back Stewart.

I wonder if there's a "signal", like on/off to indicate when it's going through a burn off cycle? I've heard of other cars that have an indicator or show a message. Would be nice to have, especially out bush while driving amongst the spinifex.

No there is not but you see that EGT after DPF rises like you did. It will be interesting to see at what percentage blockage is actives though as that would also tell you. I have listed all PIDS above that are related to the DPF.

Nope. We cannot edit the ECU. I did notice the other day that their are some Euro 6 or 7 modules starting to pop up overseas for the DPF so I'm sure something will hit Australia sooner or later.

The DPF has a private CAN BUS to the PCM and it appears to work by looking at differential air pressure from before and after the DPF. I do not really understand how it knows its even on the vehicle apart from monitoring the 2 sensors so why can't it just be removed.

I would be pretty sure that if someone put in a straight through it would be ok. Remove the 2 sensors and put the EGR back in.

Be the first to give it a go, see what errors you get and we reverse it further from there. It's a cheap test anyway, length of exhaust pipe with 2 flanges and 1 bung for the EGR.

already have a 3 inch DPF back exhaust and I had them supply a dump pipe with a DPF delete section to connect to the system. So you think it would be ok?

Worst case you will get a fault code if the sensors are unplugged I would think. I would swap it out and have Forscan handy. Monitor all the DPS sensors and see what the say. They may just zero out like mine does. I wouldn't hurt anything anyway, there is no way it could. Have a spare half a day handy and give it ago. If you want to chat about it on the phone before hand then PM me and I will give you my number.

I thought there was a pretty hefty fine for DPF removal... Might want to consider just gutting the honeycomb so it at least looks like it's still there for all the legalities.

I have no doubt there would be but there is always someone willing to take that risk and it is on their own back at the end of the day. But as you said once you know the bypass works then punch the guts of the DPF then reinstall with all original sensors.

I had a cat once that was a bit vacant and you know what, it made zero difference to power what so ever.

Anyway each to their own as I'm not here to judge but still a good point you bring up.

I'm all for it actually! It's usually a combo of DPF and EGR with some software mods to kill sensors that the diesel tuners do. :D

Just from memory it was something ridiculous like a $12k fine for individuals for removing a DPF...

Yeah around $10k is what I heard but there's next to no chance of being picked up for it. We don't have emissions testing for rego renewal (at least yet) so unless you get pulled up and sent to the EPA for excessive noise (I've had that happen) or smoke (shouldn't be an issue on a new and maintained vehicles) where they could also spot the missing DPF then there's next to no chance of being caught out.

I removed the DPF on my previous vehicle but it was a passive model, no sensors to throw errors. I'd love to do an exhaust on the Ranger but there's not much point unless you can do a full turbo back IMO.

I will look at my numbers again. Can you confirm with Forscan if DP_DPF & DP_DPF_2 change while driving. I'm assuming it will change as the pressure will be different either side of the DPF if the sensors are actually there.

Can you recheck DP_DPF & DP_DPF_2 as there is something weird with those figures you posted. I assume key was left in on position and vehicle not running? If DP_DPF in scangauge at position 3010 was 7.6 then it is impossible for position 3808 to be 7.6 also.

eg. 07E8 07 62 03 73 (03 B6) (00 00)

03 B6 converted is 7.6 so B6 on it own cannot also convert to 7.6.

DPF_SOOT_INF. You will get nothing, it is a multi-frame response which the scangauge cannot deal with.

Hi Guys,
Say "hypothetically speaking" the dpf was removed from Vehicle and programmed out of the Pcm completel, Is there a way to Disable the Particle filter Cleaning messages that display on the IPC. They seem to appear based on either distance or time since the last regeneration.

What does the message look like?

I assume it is a RTT rotating telltale like the door ajar or is it one of the small standalone telltales?

Will be based on pressure difference either side of the DPF.

I think it would be one of the stand alone.
It is a message that from what I read can be disabled with IDS IPC menu

I have been monitoring this on an Everest for the past 2 weeks.
The readings seem to work well with the EGT reaching 600 deg c and the DPF number starts to reduce. On the first occasion, the DPF hit 100 and then started to go through its burn off cycle. On the second occasion, it hit 88 and then started its burn off cycle.

What’s interesting is on both occasions, it only reduces to 23 and then the burn off cycle stops and EGT returns to normal.

Is this normal, or does it indicate a partial blockage? If it’s a partial blockage, is there anything I can do to assist in clearing it besides taking it to Ford for a manual burn off?

D_DPF_2 is also available in Forscan, but no Data ist shown.

I used the top one ( closed loop ) for the dpf in my scanguage and it works perfectly with the burn starting a minute or so after it hit 100%, I then watched it come down to 9% at which point the egt returned to normal from about 630 degrees.
