My dad has a PX3 cluster laying around, but when we last tried it in a PX2 it wasn’t happy.

Is it possible to get a PX3 cluster working in a PX2 with forscan changes?

The UI improvements of the PX3 cluster would be nice (bigger speed font, shows distance to empty instead of a quick toggle to MPH, seriously who thought that was more useful?? Probably other stuff too that I’m not aware of)

Not in full.

PX3 cluster is not compatible with your ABS module so traction control cannot be disabled.

Otherwise old asbuilt is compatible.

So TC still works though right?

I think I can live with not being able to turn it off.

Are you saying I can take an as built backup of my PX2 cluster, pop in the PX3 and load the backup?

Works and is always on.

1. Backup the current PX2 asbuilt. Save it somewhere.
2. Take a note of current ODO.
3. Disconnect from vehicle.
4. Swap cluster.
5. Reconnect and do NOT use a saved vehicle profile, start fresh.
6. Backup the PX3 cluster asbuilt. Save it somewhere.
7. Load PX2 asbuilt into PX3 cluster, test.
8. Run odometer update service and change to ODO you recorded.

You can only add KM, you cannot go lower than what the current cluster is.
Be sure to put in the correct ODO, your current ODO is held in many modules and it will stand out a mile if sold an KMs do not match each other. Although there are ways around it, it is well out of scope for this forum.
