Hi Guys,

Have a 2018 Everest Titanium demo I pickup up last week.
Had the dealer fit the tow kit and the electric brake controller

Couple of problems

When I plug my caravan plug into socket (both 12 pin) it does not shut off the reverse sensor, like it used to do on my territory. The old method was a magnet in plug operated a (i thionk) reed switch in socket to disable reverse sensor. That the same now with all this smart wiring?
I did disconnect wire from pin 12 to connect my van camera. not sure what pin 12 is normally used for

Second Have a C-Tek D250s 12v charger in the caravan, and a SmartPass, so that I can run the fridge while driving and charge the van battery

On my old territory, i ran the 12v input to the D250s from pin 8 on the socket,

On my Everest, that pin is not 'live' with engine running. Have had the socket cover off, and all pins are wired (not sure to where)
Pin 9 is constant 12v even with ignition off.

Does pin 8 become energized after driving a while? or when van battery drops?

They did not run the trailer config service. I have had this added in Forscan and running it will resolve the sensor issue.

Running this may also resolve your pin 8 issue.

Not all wiring terminates at the plug and same are listed as in the loom so you may need untape look to find it.

Trailer plug pin 8 MAX current draw should not exceed 10amp, this goes through the trailer module.
Trailer plug pin 9 if wired has a 20amp fuse in F64 in engine compartment.

Attached fitment instructions that a dealer should follow. Unfortunately most techs either do not keep up to date nor give a toss.

It is a 30 second procedure to run the configuration.

Hi Stewart,
Thanks for that.

Your USB cable arrived today. Forscan installed on laptop, connected to car.
Havent done the tutorials yet, so havent done much.
Did run the trailer module test (i think) and did get an error. see below

Is there a fault? Is it something I can fix? Or does it need to go to the dealer? If so, what do I tell them?

TIA

Also Stewart
Pin 8 - Charging: That is from the alternator? And would be used as input to my 12v charger like I have?
Pin 9 - Power from fuse 64: That is a constant 12v supply, even with key off?
Pin 11 - Fog Lights: When does that get power? When the front fog light on car are on? Or the high intensity rear light?
Pin 12 - Spare: Wasnt taped in my plub, was connected. However I disconnected and us it for my video feed, which is working.

Pin 8 is from the trailer module, not the alternator.
Pin 9 was constant from memory and is from the battery. Put a meter on it and you will know if it works with ignition off.
Fogs, lights. My assumption is when the rear fog light is on. I do not have one so have no idea.

OK, but when should pin 8 get power? When ignition on? When car battery fully charged?
Yes, pin 9 has constant power
Fog light, OK will go test that now

Just checked. Pin 11 (fog lights) get power when rear fog lights selected

I have no idea. I'm looking at wiring diagrams so you would have to get out your Meter and see when and how pin 8 is working. There is no more info on when or how.

ok,
Had the car at the dealer today and they did the required configuration service.
I now get a message stating a trailer attached, and various sensors disabled

Dealer advised that Pin 8 will get power at some stage.

I am guessing once the car start battery is charged, it will then allow power to Pin 8.
Will make up a lead that plugs into socket and runs to voltmeter in cab, so I can see if Pin 8 goes live at any time.
