You can't, it will always change back to the default keyboard.

There was a time when Qwerty would stay on unless the battery is disconnected and you could type into the unit while driving.

At some point in time if you car had a sync update by Ford you would lose those two functions. My car has never had a sync update so I still have them.

As per a post on another thread, see below, Stuart can get you back Qwerty.

Basically anything before 3.0 was ok, eg 2.2.

That is normal but the Qwerty keyboard doesn't stay.

I don't have the latest version of Sync 3 so I have now gathered that it goes when you update the software?

speaking of which,

I have a ELM327 wifi reader and have Forscanlite on IOS, also have it on a PC.

Unsure how to find silent mode in any menus in the above Apps and also on PC, I can connect to the Sync 3 on PX2 XLT with tech pack and read a bunch of data but silent mode doesn't show up anywhere?

It is quite possible that your dongle can't read all the modules.
If you have a licensed copy of Forscan and a correct dongle it should work.

I think you are correct. I’ve read a few posts now and seen screen shots and I definitely don’t have the BCM control menu at the top.

You need the fully licensed Windows version of Forscan to make changes
