It seems I have an issue trying to connect my Win10 laptop running the latest Forscan to my OBD MX BT dongle. I had issues last time, but after a few reboots it seemed to come good.

Today it's happening again. I know the dongle is OK as it pairs to my phone and OBD Link runs fine. The dongle is paired to my laptop OK, although OBDWiz can't find it on Win10 either.

I have no idea what's wrong... very frustrating.

Any ideas???

Still not working. But I have noted that while the dongle appears n the list of BT devices as 'Paired', at no time does it change to 'Connected'. As I said OBDWiz doesn't find it either, so it appears to be Windows???

I'm just wondering if there's an updated driver for the MX dongle? Windows updates seem to stuff everything up!!!

Sorry Gerry, If I had a MX Black I would look at it. Maybe order one of the EL27 hardwired units for use on the laptop $35ish shipped and keep the MX for use with your phone.

I know it doesn't fix your other problem but it is an option.

Thanks Stewart, I've just ordered one. Nice to have a backup... if ever I get this one sorted. LOL

Success! After much ferkling around with BT settings and diagnostics, followed by reboots and re-pairing the dongle, it finally came back to life.

How long for? Who knows?

For what it's worth, these OBDlink dongles do run upgradeable firmware. From memory you use the OBDlink app to upgrade it. Maybe check that? My MX WiFi purchased 12 months ago was up to date when I checked it.
