I’ve been able to enable Daytime lights with park lights only, the latest forscan doesn’t give the option of any other lights. Fog lights only is what I was hoping for.

Please see attached photo

Has anyone been able to get around this?

Great I will give that a try. Sounds like an easy fix.
Thanks again Stuart!

Hi everyone,
Been trying to get educated by reading and deciphering much of the info on this forum which has been invaluable.
I think I have it right but I'm not confident and wanted to ask for an expert's opinion before I commit to spending $.

I want to replace my Everest Trend's stock headlight with the Titanium factory ones that have built in DRLs.
1. I can swap them over but I need to purchase the DRL pin kit from Saeb's online store and run it from the BCM and plug into the DRL on each of the new headlights.
2. I need to follow the video above demonstrating the process to activate them on the BCM and IPC modules via Forscan on my laptop with OBDLink MX+. I would do this by selecting "Dedicated DRL".
3. Once headlight is installed, pin kit installed, and DRLs activate via Forscan, they should work? :)

So you are using relays for the HIDS or the original headlight control module, headlight adjustment switch? If DRLs are wired back to the BCM pinouts then they should operate fine.

You will also have to disable the headlights checks if moving to the Everest HIDS.

Thanks for the reply Stewart,
No relays, using original headlight control module. As I am getting a second set of headlights to modify, I thought I might as well try to get a set with factory DRLs if they will work with my Everest.

I will purchase a set of DRL pin kits from your online shop. A happy customer wrote that they come with instructions?

Thanks for the tip regarding disable headlight checks.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. :D

I assume you mean you bought the headlight control module also? There is no headlight control module in a halagon headlighted vehicle.

Instructions included mate.

Hi all, I've done some successful mods using Forscan and Stewart's Dongle, but can't seem to get the DRL's to work. I followed the video, and get to the point where I select "Fog Lamps" which is accepted OK. When I go to 'write' the change it gives an error and won't complete the 'write' so I can't go any further.

Does this mean my 2016 XLS (MY2015) cannot perform this DRL mod? (pic attached)

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but in order to enable the parking lights as DRL, isn't it enough to enable the dedicated option "Daylight running lights includes parking lamps"? In my car, all options are disabled, yet I do have DRLs (not dedicated). I would like to add the parking lights to it.

Stewart, I could of course, but I would not like to mess things up as I am only starting with the mods. I've watched your video many times and there you activate the fog lamps as DRLs, yet that mode is illegal in my country. The parking light is not in the options list, yet it's a dedicated option below the tree entries of Daylight Running Lights Control from IPC Option X, like in the picture above (DRL-1.jpeg). In your video that option does not appear.

So, actually my message was not with the intention of being a wise guy, rather an honest question.

As you said earlier Choose dedicated DRL than also and also Daylight running lights includes parking lamps.

Parkers will then work as dedicated DRLs. As per video but instead of fog lights select dedicated.

Thanks Stewart, I will try it. But I think in that case only the parking lights will act as DRLs. What I actually want is to ADD the parking lamps to the ones the car uses from factory, the halogen ones in the middle of the headlight. Actually the halogen ones could be wired as I do not see how they are enabled with Forscan, everything seems to be turned off. So, doing what you’ve said may in fact add them.

If you have the halogen factory DRLs enabled then leave all the DRL settings and just turn on Daylight running lights includes parking lamps. They will then both work.

Thank you Stewart, that was what I was also thinking, but I did not yet have the time to try it out yet.

Thanks Stewart
Think I’ve sorted it with the exception of one section which was DRL Configuration with 1.Option A 2.Option B or something similar. I left it unchanged. Daylight Lights are working correctly.

Ok, so the latest changes on that pages resolved the issue? Or different changes.

Disregard AB option, it was for a different issue.

Hi Stuart,

I have recently received the drl kit with instructions.
I have managed to input the codes in the BCM as built to enable the DRL and I have also enabled the sub menus on the dash to accept the tick box for the DRL.

The issue that I am having is that the DRL’s are working as they should when they key is in the on position And the switch in auto.
They are bright and go dim when the turning signal is active.
The problem is when the engine is running the DRL’s flicker and the turn off.

I don’t know what can be causing this.

Please bear in mind that I have installed the PX3 bi led headlights to the 2017 limited I believe PX2.

Everything was plug and play and works apart from the DRL’s in auto.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jamie
I had the same problem with my px2 with px3 hid headlights.
When they go out is there an error code in forscan for both left and right DRL.
Left daytime running light -circut short to ground
Right daytime running light -circut short to ground
If so the change I got from Stewart was
Try 726-26-02 xxxx-xxx2-xxxx
From memory that fixed it for me.
My ute is a 2018 px2.
You can try that, remember the original setting to change it back if this doesn't fix it or wait for Stewart to reply to you
Link to my post below
viewtopic.php?t=6323

Edit
The final setting I have is
726-26-02 xxxx-xxx2-xxxx
Sry for the confusion.
My laptop and external USB HDD was stolen when our home was broken into last year and I'm still getting all my information back from reading over these threads etc. Lost a lot of saved data, links, saved files from forscan etc.
