One of the Grunt struts I fitted failed after 4 months, it was replaced but oil seals should last longer.
I fitted a set of ARB struts and I will see how they go.

OK Goochie but if I needed to replace these I would fit Grunt struts again.
ARB work well but are not as easy to fit.
A lot of forum posts say people don't want to fit them because they require drilling, but they don't.
You have to replace a bracket on the Ranger, drilling is for other vehicles.
Seen the Grunt ones on ebay from $89 to $189

Howdy
I have recently fitted the ARB strut to my Ranger. They absolutely require a hole to be drilled. No big issue though. The worst part was having to undo the bolt for the torsion spring under the tailgate.
I should have the instructions floating around if anybody wants a look.

The bracket has a hole that needs to be drilled, which the strap gets relocated to.
Unless you didn't move the strap?

No need to.
I watched my local ARB guys fit several of these and never drilled any of them.
Get Grunt, much better

I couldn't see why it needed to be moved, it didn't look like the original position would interfere.
So after having the Grunt and ARB you believe the Grunt is better?
I've got the Grunt on mine, just don't like how you have to stick that rubber so the strap doesn't hang out through the gap between the tailgate and light.
