Torque Pro displaying on Head Unit with Sync 3

Some guys have been successful at getting torque pro to show on the factory head unit, they have Sync 3, not sure if it can work on Sync 2?

I haven't played with Torque Pro yet as it wont show what I want on Sync 2 (EGT's) but it would be useful for the TPMS monitoring.

Unfortunately with out additional interface units that are pretty expensive, you will never display this data on Sync 2.

What you see above is using Android Auto, streaming the software from phone to head unit.

They are using 3rd part apps on there celfone for android and IOS to make this possible for the Sync 3. I understamd its AA mirror and carstream app.

You think if I purchase a Sync 3 APIM and sync 3 USB hub, it is a simple bolt on procedure to replace our Sync 2? OR do I need an access to an IDS to program VIN, as built, and others to the new sync 3 APIM to make it talk to BCM, IPC and other modules and make it work flawlessly/no hidden DTCs.

Had a play with this tonight.. seems to work ok through my Samsung S10. It does pickup the custom PIDs defined in torque also
