I'm having a canvas bag waste made up by BELL CANVASS in St. Marys.

The initial Prototype wasn't an entire success but it was valuable in that it highlighted the changes that needed to be made. The revised Mk.2 is currently being fabricated.

Essentially it will perform the same functions as my "old" waste bag that used to be suspended on the back of the external spare tyre on my Land Rover Disco, I used it for carrying packaged toilet waste, fire wood, rubbish etc. empty bottles and cans in fact anything that had to be transported to a rubbish tip and not left in the desert, camp site or on a beach or that I didn't want inside the vehicle.

The bag will be about 500 wide x 600 deep and can be located on either side on the Ranger tail gate handle / rear vision camera. Its pleated and will fold out from around 75mm to a depth of around 200mm. When the tail gate is dropped it swings down vertically so that the top flap opening is easily accessible at the edge of the tailgate. Velcro straps are used to retain it and these proved to be very efficient and user friendly on my recent trip on Fraser Island. The external retaining straps are backed with a towelling / felt type soft fabric to minimise scratches on the paintwork.

The cost will be around $240 each. Let me know if you would be interested, I will publish some photos as soon as the Mk2 has been made and tested and is to my satisfaction.
