I have a 2014 XLT with alarm. I am adding a canopy on the back and would like to add an alarm sensor. Any ideas what kind (eg standard alarm earth switch) and where to wire it to (or wire it to an existing input)?

I noticed tonight that when the bonnet is up and I press the lock button the indicators don't flash, when shut the indicators flash. Does that mean the alarm won't arm while the bonnet is open? I had a quick look tonight but can't seem to find any switches/sensors on the bonnet or hinges...

There's definitely a bonnet alarm... I locked my car once with the bonnet unlatched, then all hell broke loose when I lifted the bonnet.

I'm away at the moment and cannot look anything up.
Yes the catches are monitored.
Keep in mind a PX1 will be totally different to a PX2.

Cheers guys, I took off the grill top cover and found a microswitch in the bonnet latch itself. I will try and link my canopy switches to this and see how it goes.

Ok, all sorted. I checked the wiring on the switch today and it is just a microswitch that is either open or closed. When the bonnet is closed the switch contacts close, when the bonnet is open it goes open circuit. So I have run a cable to the back of the car, wired in series with the switch. I tested it by arming the alarm, then I untwisted the cables that I ran to the back and the alarm went off! Easy as...

Awesome News, i'm looking to get central locking in the next few weeks, and the ability to get alarm coverage is great, and i'm assuming if you try to drive with canopy open you will get bonnet open warnings?

Not sure of the bonnet warning, haven't tried it yet but the indicators don't flash if you try and arm the alarm with the bonnet open. I was going to add a canopy door open alarm anyway, just a little buzzer in the cab but if the bonnet open warning happens it may save me a job!!!
