Hi
I'm very new to this gauge but I had a early model ultragauge which did not show transmission temp and it worked realy well.
I bought a new mx 1.3 pre programmed for the Ranger, bt50 yesterday and could not get the trans temp to work properly the trn1 gave err
and the trn2 gave a reading of 2450 deg. F. After searching on newranger.net and here been able to get the trn temp to work. Thanks Stewart for the info. I was confused because the setting you posted on Newranger are different to the ones you have posted here.
x 0005 /0048 + FFEE (Newranger) and the one here is x 000A / 0010 + 0000 . FFEE gave me a realistic reading where as 0000 gave me a ready of 135 deg C after just starting the engine first thing in morning.
The other problem i seem to have is that it appears that none of the pre programmed mgauges seem to work they all give err on screen is this normal or have a i got a dodgy ultragauge.

PS In the short time i have been on this site i have found some very interesting information thanks Stewart

The above is correct and anything older is wrong. Correct codes are here viewtopic.php?f=19&t=58

Ultragauge never comes pre programmed for a Ranger etc. Most if not all of the default mGauges will work with a Ranger. They are generic for Ford CAN. Use the mgauges in the above link.

The UltraGauge MX is provided pre-programmed with 8 common manufacturer parameters for various vehicles. There is no guarantee that all the pre-programmed parameters will work with your year, make and model vehicle. Those that are not supported by your vehicle will show “Err:.
