Hi All, I have read through the TPMS mature in this section and will go about getting the activation tool, but....

I have a faulty sensor with the light on the dash on all the time no and want to know how I can determine which one it is?

Also, Can I turn the TPMS off completely using forscan?

The only way I can think of is start letting each tyre down while keeping an eye on your UG,SG,Torque Pro etc.
Check the Asbuilt spread sheet to disable TPMS

You can determine by Live Data in FORScan under BdyCM module.

I had the same problem, turned out to be a bad battery in one of the sensors. After I removed the sensor you could see a bulge in the plastic above where the battery would be located, typical of a battery failure.

In Forscan you are looking for the TPMS event PID's. The event PID's store the data for the last 5 TPMS sensor faults. Slightly different names are used in Forscan and the link but they can be worked out.

If your sensors are still in the same locations then the TLOC PID gives the location of the faulty sensor. If your sensors have been moved then you could use the activation tool to reset them.

I replaced the faulty sensor myself and used the activation tool to relearn the sensors and its all good now.

I had the tyres rotated at last service and not confident the dealer would have set them even though they have been good. I have forscan so thats a winner and I reckon after reading everything here I'll just go ahead and order the activation tool right now as Im gonna need it overtime I rotate wheels unless I turn it completely off.

Are you rotating 4 or the 5 tyres?

The original spare does not have a TPMS sensor so if you have the spare on then you will be getting an error as the "Now spare tyre" will not be spinning.

If you are only rotating the 4 then you will not need the tool unless you wish to display the correct pressure for the correct tyre on say an ultragauge, scangauge etc.

The dealer will never set them if they are rotating the 4 as the vehicle does not care what sensor is where as long as the BCM sees 4 spinning wheels.

Next week Bob Jane at Bathurst will be rotating my 6 wheels for me, I've now done 20000 kilometres since I took delivery of the Wildtrak in February - all six wheels are fitted with sensors and I have a EL-50449 "relearn tool" the first line of the instructions read -- 1; "Enter Learning mode" This doesnt operation appear to be in the manual, so, how do I enter the "learning mode" once that's been attained everything else seems to be straightforward although its obviously a two man operation.

Here ya go mate... you can do it on your own.

Following is the procedure to relearn or add/replace existing sensors.
1) Make sure ALL Tyres ARE INFLATED TO SPEC
2) IGNITION SWITCH in OFF position
3) PRESS AND RELEASE BRAKE PEDAL
4) Turn IGNITION SWITCH TO RUN 3 times ending in RUN (within 10 sec)
5) PRESS AND RELEASE BRAKE PEDAL
6) Turn the ignition switch back to OFF
7) IGNITION SWITCH TO RUN 3 times ending in RUN (within 10 sec)
8) The HORN SOUND indicates vehicle has entered into TPMS RELEARN mode
9) Place the top of the TPMS triggering tool against the sidewall of the PASSENGERS SIDE FRONT Tyre in the location of the valve stem. TRIGGER SENSOR, wait until the horn sounds
10) Once the horn sounds, move on to the DRIVERS SIDE FRONT Tyre and repeat the process. Each Tyre should only take 30 seconds or less.
11) Once horn sounds continue on to the DRIVERS SIDE REAR Tyre and
12) Once horn sounds continue on to the PASSENGERS SIDE REAR Tyre
13) You will receive an acknowledgement on the Instrument Cluster saying it is complete
14) You may now turn the ignition to OFF
