This has probably already been asked but can the Hema 4wd maps that i have on phone / ipad work with the Apple car play on Sync 3?

They have been and still are unwilling to do it.
One. They have there own hardware and although a Sync3 version would sell in droves, they are set on their own.
Two. Meeting Apple or Google requirements for mapping Carplay or Android Auto is hell.
Send them an email though, I did. Every little nudge may help.
